My Why

A young woman with long, wavy brown hair sitting on a wooden bench outdoors, smiling gently, wearing a white blouse, gold jewelry, and checkered blue and white skirt, with lush green foliage in the background.

I have always been relatively healthy, but after the birth of my third child, I began experiencing an overwhelming collection of symptoms—intense fatigue, joint swelling and pain, chronic headaches, dizziness, anxiety, and an inability to lose weight. Slowly, these symptoms began affecting my everyday life and, most importantly, my ability to be the mother and wife I wanted to be. I couldn’t change my baby’s diaper or button her clothing without intense pain in my hands.

After seeing a Rheumatologist, I was diagnosed with an unspecified autoimmune inflammatory condition and was essentially told there was nothing I could do to change it.

That wasn’t good enough for me. I was too young, had too much life ahead of me, and too many people counting on me to simply accept that I would continue feeling worse. So, I started searching for answers.

That search led me to functional medicine—and it completely changed the way I understood health. Instead of simply managing symptoms, I began looking at why they were happening and how nutrition, lifestyle, gut health, inflammation, hormones, stress, and other underlying factors could influence the way the body functions.

Through this approach, I was able to reverse the autoimmune process occurring in my body and experience a level of wellness I had almost forgotten was possible. That experience changed the way I practice as a nurse practitioner.

Today, my passion is helping others who feel like something is “off,” who have been told their labs are normal but know they don’t feel normal, or who are tired of putting a temporary band-aid over symptoms without understanding the bigger picture.

I believe your symptoms are worth investigating. Your health is worth understanding, and your body deserves more than simply being told to live with feeling unwell.

My goal is to help you uncover the root causes affecting your health and create a personalized path toward feeling functionally well—so you can have the energy, vitality, and quality of life to fully show up for the people and things you love.

Your body was made to heal and you can feel optimal again.

Provider, Educator, Wife, & Mother

A family of six sitting on a park bench with trees and water in the background, smiling at the camera. The family includes two adults and four children, with the children wearing blue and white clothing.

Outside of medicine and education, Caroline is a wife and mom to three young children. She and her husband enjoy spending time together as a family, especially at the lake, outdoors, and cheering on their boys at their sporting events. Her faith in Christ is an important part of how she views medicine as her ministry—a way to serve others and help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

In her free time, Caroline enjoys exercise, leading the women’s Bible study at her church, playing with her children, and traveling with her husband. Above all, she treasures time with her family and believes that true health encompasses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
